A YouTube channel centered around the hobby of video games. A generic statement perhaps, if it weren't for the pedigree that the creator of Ahoy, Stuart Brown, has established for himself. His videos have tackled a number of topics in the realm of gaming, but each is met with highly refined writing and editing. Every single one is tightly composed with plenty of depth and little chaff, all with the silky smooth tones of Stuart's British voice...Is that a bit much? For Ahoy, I don't think it is. After all, for a channel with this much polish, you have to bring out the big guns. Speaking of which, two series of his stand out in particular: the Iconic Arms series where he breaks down the history of weapons inside and outside of the virtual world, and the RetroAhoy series which, as the name implies, involves detailing the history of gaming with everything from the beginnings of the first-person shooter to the legacy of the Commodore Amiga, one of the most legendary home computers to ever exist. While he might not have the most extensive library of content on offer, the name of the game here, as it were...is quality over quantity.
