Construction Of A Video Thumbnail

This was written for the University subject, BCM114.

For this post, I decided it would be interesting to take a few screenshots while working on a thumbnail for an upcoming video to document its construction. Also, you'll be able to get a sneak peak at what I'm planning to work on and release sometime soon (hopefully). In the meantime, here are some screenshots as well as some thoughts on how I begin to construct an image.

Above: Removed the black background from the image and moving it into a separate document

Above: First addition of text and the Amiga logo. In hindsight, I'm glad I changed the font and positioning of the logo 'cause this is just kinda crap.

Above: Ah, much better!

Above: Here, I start to add, adjust and move the different elements of my background to where I want them to be.

Above: Construction is now done! Now, just to add...

...The Gaussian blur for clarity!

Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this thumbnail. Some of the changes I made early on, such as to the text and colour of the logo, paid enormous dividends by the end.

Now, on to making the actual "History of The Amiga" video itself!
